Prepare eggs, fill cartons and count what is left over. Practise place value, division and equal sharing in 60 free levels, with 12 additional premium mixed-packing tasks.
Fill cartons, count complete groups and find the eggs left over. Egg Farm makes place value, division and equal sharing visible through individual eggs, open cartons and hundreds crates.
Place value and division in Egg Farm
Prepare the order from the supply area in the packing area. The contents of eggs and cartons are always visible. The selected item has a yellow glow. Check compares your arrangement with the task, and an incorrect attempt leaves your work in place so you can adjust it.
The game has 72 separate levels: 24 place-value tasks and 12 each for packing division, equal sharing, division with remainders and mixed packing. Choose a task type in the level selector to focus on the topic you want to practise.
How to prepare the eggs
- Read the order. The task gives the number of eggs and the carton size or baskets to use.
- Tap or drag to pack. Tap a supply item to add it. Select a carton that is not full, then tap the egg supply to add an egg to it. You can also drag eggs into cartons.
- Adjust your arrangement. Drag unwanted items back to the supply area. In equal-sharing levels, use Take an egg to remove an egg from the selected basket.
- Use packing actions when available. When enough loose eggs are ready, the packing action groups them into a full carton. Ten full tens cartons can be grouped into a hundreds crate.
- Check your work. In remainder tasks, enter both the number of full cartons and the remainder. Feedback explains the result; a successful check shows the calculation.
Tens and ones
An order for 23 eggs needs 2 full tens cartons and 3 single eggs. The columns separate tens from ones. The small labels at the bottom update as you pack, showing the number of groups and their value, such as 2 × 10 and 3 × 1.
Place-value levels always use 10-egg cartons and 100-egg crates. Keeping the units consistent helps children connect the objects with the digits in a number.
Hundreds, tens and ones
To prepare 235 eggs, use 2 hundreds crates, 3 tens cartons and 5 single eggs. Each hundreds crate visibly contains ten full tens cartons. Children can compare the columns and check how much each digit contributes.
Place-value tasks include larger numbers up to 650. The game asks for an arrangement of hundreds, tens and ones, rather than a typed copy of the order number.
Division: how many cartons?
For 24 eggs in 6-egg cartons, prepare four full cartons. The packing shows 24 ÷ 6 = 4. Each task fixes the carton size; available packing sizes are 6, 10, 15 and 30.
Children can count the complete cartons and check that all eggs have been used. The arrangement itself answers the task, so ordinary packing-division levels do not add a separate number field.
Equal sharing
Share 18 eggs equally between 3 baskets. Place the same number in each basket until all eggs have been shared. Each basket then contains 6 eggs.
This task gives the number of groups and asks how much belongs in each group. In carton-packing division, the group size is given and the number of groups is found. The objects make the two questions easy to compare.
Division with a remainder
Pack 47 eggs into 15-egg cartons. Three full cartons use 45 eggs, leaving 2 eggs. Enter 3 for Full cartons and 2 for Remainder, then check the arrangement and both answers.
A remainder must be smaller than the carton size. If enough loose eggs remain to fill another carton, there is still another full group to make. The game checks both the packing and the entered answers.
Mixed packing
Premium mixed-packing levels let you combine the carton sizes named in the task to fill an order exactly. For example, 49 eggs can be packed using three 6-egg cartons, one 10-egg carton and one 15-egg carton: 18 + 10 + 15 = 49.
Different valid combinations can work. The goal is to use the allowed carton sizes, fill the order and leave no loose eggs over.
Who is Egg Farm for?
Recommended for ages 7+. Start with tens and ones, then choose hundreds, equal sharing or division tasks to match what the child is learning. Each level usually takes about 2–3 minutes, depending on the arrangement and discussion.
The game provides 60 free levels and 12 premium mixed-packing levels. It works with a mouse or touch, and the supply and packing areas stack on smaller screens.
Frequently asked questions
How does Egg Farm work?
Prepare the eggs, cartons and crates required by the task. Tap or drag to move them, then use Check for feedback. Your arrangement stays in place after an incorrect attempt so you can fix it.
What do tens cartons and hundreds crates mean?
In place-value levels, a single egg represents one, a full 10-egg carton represents ten, and a crate of ten full cartons represents one hundred. To make 235, use 2 hundreds crates, 3 tens cartons and 5 single eggs.
What carton sizes are available?
Packing levels use cartons holding 6, 10, 15 or 30 eggs. Place-value tasks consistently use only 10-egg cartons and 100-egg crates.
What do I enter for division with a remainder?
Enter the number of completely filled cartons in the Full cartons field and the number of loose eggs left over in the Remainder field. For 47 eggs in 15-egg cartons, the answers are 3 full cartons and 2 eggs left over.
How can I fix my arrangement?
Drag an unwanted egg or carton back to the supply area. You can drag a loose egg into a carton that is not full, or select the carton and tap the egg supply. In equal-sharing levels, the Take an egg button removes an egg from the selected basket.
Are all the levels free?
Egg Farm currently has 60 free levels and 12 premium mixed-packing levels. In premium tasks, combine different carton sizes to fill the order with no eggs left over.
Can I play on a phone?
Yes. Eggs and cartons can be moved by touch. On smaller screens, the supply and packing areas appear one below the other, and answer fields stack vertically.
