Work out where the frog will land after equal jumps, then choose a number on the number line. Watch the animation to check your answer in 45 free multiplication levels with results up to 100.
Where will the frog land? In Number Frog, you predict the end of a series of equal jumps before the animation begins. Click or tap your chosen number, then follow the frog to see whether your calculation was right.
Practise multiplication on a number line
Equal jumps make repeated groups visible. With jumps of 3, the frog visits 3, 6, 9 and 12. The task asks you to distinguish the number of jumps from the size of each jump and use both to find the destination.
Choose from 45 separate levels with results up to 100. Tasks are grouped by times table, beginning with 2s, 5s and 10s and continuing through the other tables. Each level contains one task.
How to play
- Read the task. For example: “The frog makes 2 jumps of 3. Which number will it land on?”
- Choose a destination. Click or tap a point on the number line. You decide before the frog starts checking.
- Follow the jumps. The frog moves automatically. Arcs appear as it jumps, and landing points light up.
- Check the result. Feedback and the multiplication appear after the jumps. If your answer was wrong, choose again.
- Finish or restart. Finish completes the current level. Restart clears the attempt so you can try from the beginning.
Example: two jumps of three
Two equal jumps of 3 follow the route 0 → 3 → 6. The frog lands on 6. After the animation, the game shows 2 × 3 = 6.
Swapping the numbers gives a different route: three jumps of 2 visit 2, 4 and 6. The result is the same, while the number and size of the jumps change. Watching both routes can help a child explain the calculation.
What can children practise?
- Multiplication: link equal jumps to a times-table fact.
- Counting in groups: follow repeated steps of the same size.
- Number-line position: find a destination and compare nearby numbers.
- Checking a prediction: compare an answer with the animated route.
- Explaining a method: describe how many jumps were made and how long they were.
Which age group is it for?
Recommended for ages 7+, especially children learning multiplication and the times tables. Choose a familiar table first, then move on to less familiar facts. A level usually takes about 2–3 minutes, including time to discuss the route.
Playing on a phone or tablet
Use a mouse or touch to select numbers. For larger results, the line labels every fifth number and shows smaller ticks between them. Wider lines scroll sideways on small screens, and the view follows the frog while it jumps.
Frequently asked questions
How does Number Frog work?
Read how many jumps the frog makes and how long each jump is, then click or tap the number where you expect it to land. The frog jumps along the number line and shows the actual result.
Which numbers can I practise?
The levels stay within 100. There are tasks for the 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 times tables.
What should I watch during the jumps?
Count the jumps and their length separately. Two jumps of 3 follow the route 0 → 3 → 6, giving the multiplication 2 × 3 = 6.
What happens if I choose the wrong number?
The frog still makes the jumps given in the task. The route and feedback show the correct destination, and you can choose again. Restart lets you begin the whole level again.
Is the game free?
Yes. All 45 Number Frog levels are free, and each task can be started separately from the level selector.
Can I play on a phone or tablet?
Yes. Choose a number with a mouse or by touch. On smaller screens, wider number lines scroll sideways, and the view follows the frog during its jumps.
