Playful development for measurement and logic
This game is one of the best tools for illustrating basic mathematical concepts: it was specifically developed to understand weights, measurements, and balance. It’s not just about packing – it also develops logical reasoning, counting skills, and visual estimation.
This interactive online game builds mathematical thinking and quantitative skills. Children gain a sense of achievement with each balanced scale, while quietly learning how to add and compare masses.
Operating logic
The goal of the game is for the player to drag objects of different weights (such as strawberries, apples, or melons) at the bottom of the screen into the pans of a two-arm scale so that the two sides are balanced. The interface is clean, so the focus remains on the numbers and the scale’s language throughout.
During the game, the current total weight (for example, 9kg or 30kg) appears above the pans, so the child receives continuous visual feedback about the difference. The task is completed when the scale is centered. The game can be restarted at any time to deepen the learning by experimenting with different combinations.
What does the Libra game develop?
Weighing weights and finding balance is a complex developmental activity:
- Quantitative sense and estimation: Helps to understand the concepts of “heavier” and “lighter” and how several smaller objects can weigh the same as one larger one.
- Mathematical operations: Teaches the practical application of addition, as children must mentally add up the weights of the objects placed in the pan.
- Logical thinking: It takes the child from the “trial and error” method to conscious planning: they have to calculate exactly how much weight is missing for balance.
- Problem Solving: If the balance is tipped too far, the player must figure out what to take away or add in order to succeed.
- The concept of the kilogram: It introduces the unit of mass (kg) in a playful way, so the school curriculum will be familiar to you.
Is the game free?
Yes, the basic version of the Libra game is available completely free on the Kiddos platform. The game is designed to provide an ad-free and safe environment where children can focus on the puzzles without distractions.
